Trump comes to Newport Harbor, more than $5 million raised

Former President Donald Trump came to Newport Beach over the weekend for a fundraising event held at a home on Harbor Island. The event raised more than $5 million, according to local sources, with more than 400 people in attendance on site and more than 100 boats “floating” in the nearby harbor as part of a floating rally dubbed as “Trumptilla.”

The event, held on Saturday, June 8, included a $100,000 per person roundtable discussion, a photo opportunity for $35,000 per person and other tickets ranging from $3,500-$5,000, according to a source close to the event.

Many different agencies helped to ensure safety and peace surrounding the event, including the Newport Beach Police Department, Customs/Border Patrol, the Coast Guard and Secret Service, according to sources.

Trump is expected to be formally announced as the GOP’s presidential nominee at the Republication National Convention in Milwaukee in mid-July. A few days prior, he is scheduled to be sentenced following a conviction on 34 felony charges in New York.
