The Teen Project holds 10th anniversary Fashion Show Benefit at South Coast Plaza

The 10th anniversary of The Teen Project Fashion Show Benefit was held on Sunday, May 5 at Saks Fifth Avenue in South Coast Plaza. The Teen Project provides resources for at risk teens who have aged out of the foster system and are often victims of human trafficking. The resources provide such things as the support of a family unit, safe housing, financial support towards higher education, counseling and mentoring on how to lead a productive, happy and healthy life.

Ten years ago, CEO and Founder of The Teen Project, Lauri Burns met Deborah Keillor and Jennifer Blanchfield. These two incredible mothers along with their daughters and friends asked Burns what they could do to help make an impact for these young women? Keillor and Blanchfield created The Teen Project Orange County Committee, comprised of young women and their mothers in our local community that have contributed to bettering the lives of those who needed a second chance at life.

Over the past decade the OC Committee has helped raise awareness and fundraise more than $2 million.

“It’s so wonderful to see how The Teen Project has grown over the past 10 years. The Teen Project residents and teen project committee members have built a special relationship,” said Keillor, who served as the Fashion Show Benefit producer. “The positive impact will last a lifetime.”
