Resort at Pelican Hill announces management agreement with Marriott International, will join St. Regis brand

The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Coast will be managed by Marriott International starting on July 1, as announced by the Irvine Company yesterday, May 23.

The 5-star luxury resort, spanning 504 acres and including the Pelican Hill Golf Club, will be managed by Marriott International under its luxury group and will join the St. Regis brand at a later time.

The Irvine Company released the following statement yesterday, May 23, regarding the change:

“Over the past year, the Resort at Pelican Hill has conducted a strategic review of the property and its operations, meeting with hospitality experts from around the world to explore how to further enhance the 5-star experience that makes the Resort a sought-after destination for our guests and our local community.

“We are pleased to announce that Marriott International, the world’s leading international hospitality company, will commence management of the day-to-day operations at the Resort, effective July 1. This includes the world-renowned Pelican Hill Golf Club.

“With this management agreement, Marriott International is committed to retaining the majority of our Resort associates and will operate the hotel within its Luxury Group under the Resort at Pelican Hill name before it is set to join the St. Regis brand at a later date.

“Irvine Company will continue as the long-term owner and steward of this iconic property.”

Current rates at the resort range from $805 to $4,725 per night, with extended stay options in two-, three- and four-bedroom villas offered at $28,500 to $120,000 per month, according to the resort’s website.
