This 1933 aerial photo looks northerly over Balboa Island showing about one half of the lots with houses. The building at the bottom of Little Balboa Island is an early club house of BYC. Off the northerly tip of Balboa and Collins Island is the newly developed Harbor Island with two or three houses. At the top left center is a Lido Isle with its new streets and a few houses. At the top right is the new 1932 Coast Highway bridge over the Upper Newport Bay entrance. Across the channel from Balboa Island to the right is the marina now called Balboa Yacht Basin. The white area above the basin is where Beacon Bay housing was built.
