Kicking off the festivities, Home & Garden Tour committee members and Home Tour designers gathered at a wine & design garden party, hosted by Arhaus Trade and Fashion Island, at the beautiful new Arhaus Newport showroom in Fashion Island. Arhaus was founded in 1986 on a simple idea: Furniture and décor should be sustainably sourced, lovingly made and built to last.

Samplings included blue crabcakes with remoulade sauce; goat cheese croquettes with fig and apple; BBQ rosemary meatballs; mini lobster rolls and bread pudding with bourbon sauce. In addition, there was a wine bar with refreshing libations.

Newport Harbor Home & Garden Tour Chair Karen Taylor provided a glimpse of the upcoming Home Tour day: “We have 32 committee members this year, and the day of the tour we will have help from more than 125 volunteers. This event wouldn’t happen without the support of each person who takes a shift to welcome people and make sure all goes smoothly.

“We are also very fortunate to have so many returning and new sponsors who participate by taking ad space in our Look Book. Tickets went very quickly this year; we began selling online in January and sold out as of April 15. Thanks to so many, the NHHS Home Tour has become a community event and beyond.

“The Home Tour is a function of the Newport Harbor Educational Foundation, and the proceeds go directly to enrich the learning experience of each Harbor student.”
