The five-night parade features extravagantly decorated boats of all sizes cruising throughout the harbor. The parade beings each evening off the tip of Lido Isle at 6:30 p.m. and finishes back there around 9 p.m.

The parade will be streamed to viewers, offering the world a front-row seat. The virtual viewing will take place on multiple platforms including web, social media and the City of Newport Beach’s local broadcast channel NBTV. The show will include the parade’s entirety, the Ring of Lights home competition, interviews with participants and spotlights on both the frontline heroes as Grand Marshal and from local charities.

Opening and closing night gatherings at Marina Park and the fireworks shows will be eliminated due to pandemic concerns. There will also be an abundance of signage around the harbor restricting viewing at some areas and advising against overcrowding.

The Ring of Lights has joined the parade over the years by seeing the residences, businesses and yacht clubs bordering the Bay joining in to elaborately decorate their places.

Boat Parade participants will be asked to attend a pre-parade Skippers Meeting on either Wednesday, December 9 or Monday, December 14 at 6 p.m.

Registered boaters pay an entry fee of $35 and receive a 60-day Sea Tow membership, a Simple Green VIP Cleaning Kit and a chance for the boat to appear on the live broadcast.
