Newport Beach Police Chief Jon Lewis

Lately, we’ve all been managing a lot of changes in our daily lives. As we work through this as a community, remember that the Newport Beach Police Department is always here if you need us.

We have taken a number of steps to better support the people of Newport Beach in response to COVID-19. We are closely monitoring our high-visibility areas (such as our beaches and parks) and are patrolling these places more often. We have been engaged in educational efforts with the retail stores that are impacted by the Governor’s Executive Order. We have also been working closely with our public safety partners (our Lifeguards in particular) to monitor activity on our beaches, and we are encouraging everyone to practice social distancing when in public spaces.

The City’s website is a great source of information and is updated regularly.  Let’s all stay safe, practice social distancing, and wash our hands. We’re all in this together.
