OC Coastkeeper names Newport Beach resident as new board member

Janice Sclafani has been named the newest board member of Orange County Coastkeeper. A Newport Beach resident, she was selected to Coastkeeper’s board of 12 members as a candidate who demonstrates experience in community leadership, enthusiasm for environmental conservation and strong communication and fundraising skills. As a member of the board, she will help develop comprehensive solutions to environmental issues that affect everyone in the community.

A native Californian, Sclafani was born and raised in Tustin and shares a love for the local waters. As a child, she recalls spending summers at her family’s Balboa Peninsula home. When applying for colleges, she chose the University of California, San Diego because it not only established academic excellence, but overlooked the California coastline. She and her husband belong to the Balboa Yacht Club and enjoy boating together in their free time.
