It’s a kids’ world continues in November and into December at Newport Beach Public Library

Hey kids! Check out what’s happening in November (and beyond) at the Library…just for you! For LEGOS twice a week, BARK Reading to a dog and Makerspace Thursdays, fall and Thanksgiving crafts, family game afternoon and DINOVEMBER…your days will be filled!

It’s LEGOS every Wednesday and on the first and third Saturdays

LEGO Wednesdays and LEGO Saturdays

Every Wednesday from 3-4 p.m., drop at the Mariners Branch to create with LEGO! And at Central Library Children’s Room between 2 and 4 p.m. on the first and third Saturdays of each month (Next date: Nov. 18). Get inspiration for your creations by spinning their LEGO challenge wheel and let your imagination run wild! No registration is required. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Family Game Day

Join an afternoon of family fun with board games and puzzles the third Tuesday of every month (Date: Nov. 21) from 4-5 p.m. at Central Library. Relax after school, meet new friends and try out games. No registration is required. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Ages 6+.

They’re celebrating DINOVEMBER!

On Tuesday, Nov. 28 from 4-5 p.m., join for an afternoon of dinosaur-themed fun including crafts and games in the Children’s Room at Central Library. No registration is required. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Space is first come, first seated and limited by room capacity. Materials are available while supplies last.

BARK is a great way to come practice your reading skills

Practice reading with a BARK dog!

Kids! Come practice your reading skills with a BARK reading dog. Join the Newport Beach Public Library (NBPL) on the first Tuesday of every month from 4-5 p.m. at Central Library for a BARK reading event. This program is a great way for children to increase their reading skills with a non-judgmental reading companion in a calm environment. Geared for ages 5 and up, and no registration is required. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Next session is Tuesday, Dec. 5.

Get creative the first Thursday of every month at Makerspace

Makerspace Thursdays!

Looking for a space to express yourself? Let your creativity soar the first Thursday of every month from 4-5 p.m., for an hour of open-ended fun using various art materials and techniques at Central Library’s Stahr Storytime Room. Recommended for ages 8-11. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Materials available while supplies last. Next session is Thursday, Dec. 7.
