ENC holds Artisan Marketplace, raises nearly $7,000

The 8th Annual Environmental Nature Center (ENC) Artisan Marketplace was held on Sunday, Dec. 4. Hundreds of community members shopped for handmade and vintage gifts from more than 50 local artisans offering a variety of eco-friendly, sustainable products. Shoppers were serenaded by holiday tunes from local jazz/pop/rock artists Sidenotes Keys/Bass.

Guests enjoyed spending the day in nature instead of a shopping mall. Vendors paid booth fees and donated a percentage of their sales to the ENC. Visitors paid a $2 entry fee. Combined with sponsorships from Farmers & Merchants Bank and Janet Krochman, CPA, the event raised nearly $7,000 to help the ENC provide transformative experiences through connection to nature.

To keep waste down at the event, vendors were not allowed to provide disposable, single use plastic packaging or Styrofoam. Guests were encouraged to bring reusable bags. Children who brought a reusable mug received free hot cocoa. Those who brought along reusable plates and utensils received a raffle ticket from food vendors and were entered to win one of two fabulous raffle prizes donated by Nova Vita Foundation, Dark Mythicals Workshop, David Page Photography and Giggling Witch Crafts.

The Call for Artisans for the 2023 Artisan Marketplace, which will occur on December 3, 2023, will open in Spring 2023. Potential vendors interested in applying for the 2023 event should contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
