COVID-19: 756 new cases and two new deaths reported in Newport Beach this past week

Stu News Newport is reporting COVID-19 numbers on a weekly basis, as reported by the OC Health Care Agency.

This week, January 12-18, there have been 756 new cases in Newport Beach and two new deaths, bringing the overall totals to 8,355 cases reported to date and 110 deaths. 

During the past week, the county reported a total of 52,428 new cases, raising the total to 455,314 to date. The death totals for the county were 27 for the week, bringing the overall total number of deaths to 5,938.

As of Tuesday, Jan. 18, Orange County has performed a cumulative of 6,652,854 tests to date. There are 1,197 current cases of hospitalized patients in Orange County, of which 199 are in ICU.
