NHHS Boys Golf continue their record-setting winning ways

On Tuesday, Newport Harbor’s Boys Golf team hosted Fountain Valley, Marina and Los Alamitos at Costa Mesa Country Club for a nine hole, four-way match, and swept them all.

The final scores were NHHS 176, Marina 193, Los Alamitos 196 and Fountain Valley 205.

The Sailors’ 176 score was just one-over-par, led by Kenny Swanson with a 34, Nick Thayer, John Herold and Caden Dewey with 35s, and Sam Thayer at 37. The overall score as a team was another school record for the lowest team score at their home course. The effort was helped as Swanson, Dewey, Herold and Thayer all birdied the last hole to break the previous record of 179, just set last week.

Coach Scott Tarnow was all smiles, saying “It’s an incredible season so far.”
