Illumination Foundation welcomes Jack Toan

Jack Toan, a member of Newport Beach-based Orange County Grantmakers and a seasoned philanthropy and community development executive, has been named the chief operating officer (COO) of the Illumination Foundation – a nonprofit that provides targeted, interdisciplinary services designed to disrupt the cycle of homelessness in Southern California.

Prior to accepting this position, Toan served as vice president of Social Impact & Sustainability for Wells Fargo, where he managed the company’s $10 million charitable giving and volunteerism programs in the Southern California region. He previously led the company’s Military Affairs program for the west region, in addition to his daily responsibilities. He joined the company in 2002.

Jack Toan

Toan is a long-standing member of Illumination Foundation’s board of directors and also serves with the UCI Alumni Association, the National Asian American Community Foundation and OC Human Relations Council Community Partners, in addition to Orange County Grantmakers.

Additionally, he is an appointee to the Orange County Commission to End Homelessness and is a co-founder of Delivering with Dignity OC, a public-private collaboration that engages volunteers and supports local restaurants to serve the most vulnerable people affected by COVID-19. For the past 21 years, he has volunteered weekly martial arts instruction to underserved children.

Toan holds an MBA degree from UC Irvine Paul Merage School of Business and is a graduate of the Southern California Leadership Network. He also received his undergraduate degree from UC Irvine. He resides in Irvine with his family.
