The Newport Beach Animal Shelter is hosting a “Home for the Holidays” pet adoption day on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
No appointment is needed. Just show up for an opportunity to meet and greet with dogs, cats, rabbits, reptiles, birds and more, all ready for adoption.
Friends of Newport Beach Animal Shelter (fonbas.org) provided the city with a brand-new, state-of-the-art shelter to care for animals in our community. Now is the time to visit the shelter, meet the city staff and many volunteers, and learn more about day-to-day needs of hundreds of lost or displaced pets that come to our shelter each year.
As a special gift to the community, FONBAS is supporting each adoption by partnering with the shelter to offer a reduced adoption fee of just $10.
Some shelter animals are temporarily lost and reunited with their owners, but most are truly homeless. Your home could be a new forever home for one of the many animals ready for adoption.

Meet Phoenix…sweet, playful and full of curiosity
There’s Phoenix, a handsome cat living at the shelter since April. Phoenix is sweet, playful and full of curiosity – he loves chasing a red laser dot! He’s also great pals with Sugar, a fellow adoptable cat, so he should do well in a home with other cats.

Meet Ula…all the way from Maui – she is young, friendly, energetic, smart and housebroken
Ula is a 1-year-old, 43-pound female dog recently transferred from the Maui Humane Society. Ula is friendly, energetic, smart and housebroken. She is social with other dogs and enjoys playing with toys. Her foster family in Maui described her as sweet and easygoing, with a love for car rides.

And adorable Roo…only three months old, who is happy and healthy
Roo is an adorable 3-month-old terrier mix puppy who is new to the shelter and already showing that he is happy and healthy, and sure to grow into a loyal and loving companion.
There are lots of animals ready for adoption – hopefully many of you in our community can pop by the shelter on Saturday, Dec. 7 and find a pet to give a new home to for the holidays.
