Teens explore the NBPD Mounted Unit

The Newport Beach Police Department is gearing up for this summer’s Teen Academy, a fun and informative seven-week program for local youth. The class, which is open to students who live or attend school in our city, gives teens a unique opportunity to learn more about the Police Department from a wide variety of experts, covering topics such as SWAT, K9, jail operations, traffic, patrol, the Mounted Unit, CSI and more. Several lessons also include active participation and role-playing, to give the students additional insight into the role of a police officer.
