Environmental Nature Center receives California Green Building Award
The Environmental Nature Center (ENC) has been honored with the prestigious California Green Building Award for Merit in the Waste & Circular Solutions Category, recognizing their leadership in sustainable building practices and circular waste management. The award was presented at the 20th Annual Green Gala, hosted by the California Green Building Awards, on December 11.
As part of this recognition, ENC’s project will be featured on the EcoMapCA Awards Tour, showcasing innovative leadership in California’s green building community. EcoMapCA is a unique online platform that originated in 2016 for the Greenbuild International Conference & Expo. This comprehensive resource showcases California’s sustainable buildings and landmarks through self-guided tours, transportation options and educational materials. ENC’s inclusion highlights their green building features alongside other notable projects throughout the greater Los Angeles region, serving to inspire Californians toward a more sustainable future.

Vettraino, a leader in the green building community with extensive expertise in sustainable certifications, played a pivotal role in guiding ENC through this process.
The ENC, renowned for their innovative educational programs and community outreach, has long integrated eco-friendly practices into their facilities. This award specifically recognizes the organization’s exemplary achievements in waste reduction and circular solutions implementation.
The California Green Building Awards, presented by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), celebrate leaders in sustainability who demonstrate exceptional environmental stewardship.
