Environmental Nature Center presents Chris Epting
On Saturday, April 11, the Environmental Nature Center (ENC) will host historian Chris Epting’s lecture, “Theodore Roosevelt in California” from 4-6 p.m.
The lecture centers around Theodore Roosevelt’s 1903 California trip during his “Great Loop Tour,” where a meeting with John Muir inspired Roosevelt to start the national parks. It will also cover the lesser-known events like the African American Buffalo soldiers who protected those parks, as well as connections between Roosevelt, Yosemite and President Abraham Lincoln.
