Join the Environmental Nature Center (ENC) on Sunday, Feb.15 from 10-11:30 a.m. for Reading in the Redwoods, when the featured book is “Vulture Verses: Love Poems for the Unloved” by Diane Lang, who uses playful poetry to reframe animals that are frequently misunderstood. Families will hike out to the redwoods, and along the trail, an ENC naturalist will guide participants through simple, developmentally appropriate activities inspired by the book’s themes. Adults and their children are encouraged to participate together – blending early literacy with environmental education and outdoor exploration. Cost: Child, pre-registered member, $5; Child, pre-registered non-member, $7. Sign up here. ENC is located at 1601 E. 16th St., Newport Beach.
