Nature Adventure Camp Session 3 runs July 1-15

Depending on the age of the campers, activities may include a California native plant scavenger hunt, using traditional Tongva and Acjachemen tools and games, and animal encounters with native California animals. A guest speaker from Sports Basement will come to camp on Monday to show the campers how to set up a tent and a whole variety of camping equipment. As always, the week will end with roasting marshmallows at the firepit for Camp Fire Friday.

“We are fortunate to live in a state with a lush diversity of habitats, plant communities and wildlife,” said ENC Camp Director Mindy Schwartz. “Campers will learn all about our state flora and fauna, as well as our National Parks System. They will develop a sense of pride for living in the great state of California as they learn about our natural history and the Indigenous peoples of California.”

Nature Adventure Camp is offered for kids ages 5-8 at the Environmental Nature Center in Newport Beach.
