61st Annual Athletic Awards Dinner recognizes outstanding athletic achievement

On Tuesday, May 21, the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce and the Commodores Club presented the 61st Annual Athletic Awards Dinner at The Pacific Club, recognizing athletes in Corona del Mar High School (CdMHS), Newport Harbor High School (NHHS) and Sage Hill School, as well as Coaches of the Year.

Newport Beach Fire Chief and Commodore Jeff Boyles kicked off the evening with welcoming remarks and The Commodores Club Skipper Lauren Zaeske led the Pledge of Allegiance. Newport Beach Mayor Will O’Neill delivered his message. Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce President & CEO and Commodore Steve Rosansky introduced special guests, then attendees enjoyed a lovely dinner and lively conversation.

Special guest speaker was three-time Olympic Gold Medalist with USA Softball Leah Amico. Following her address, awards were presented to the student athletes and coaches of the year by NHHS Athletic Director Jerry Murray, CdMHS Athletic Director Brian Walsh and Sage Hill Athletic Director Megan Cid.
